BOTTEX TALLIES GOAL AGAINST NOR'EASTERS

Weston, Mass.—Sophomore Derek Arnold (Detroit, Mich.) tallied five goals for the University of New England (5-8, 2-6 TCCC) in its 24-2 defeat of Regis College (0-7) Wednesday.

Seven different Nor’easter players scored two goals each. Junior Luke DiFiore (Gloucester, Mass.) registered four goals and one assist for the University of New England. DiFiore took five shots with four being on Regis keeper Andrew LaMacchia (Lynn, Mass.)

LaMacchia had 13 saves for Pride. Tyler Thomas (Pleasantville, N.Y.) had a team-high seven shots for the Nor’easters, tallying two goals. Teammates Dylan Thomas (Pleasantville, N.Y.) and Joe McCarthy (Billerica, Mass.) marked six and seven shots respectively, each scoring two goals.

The Nor’easters moved the ball well offensively, scoring two goals within thirty-seconds in the first period. Regis battled defensively, but had a tough time slowing the speedy UNE offense.

A tough shot in the crease from Regis’ Stephan Bottex (Norwood, Mass.) gave the Pride its first goal of the game. It would not be until less than a minute remained that Regis’ Wade Thongsythavong (Salem, Mass.) scored the team’s second goal off an assist from Derek Brown (Brighton, Mass.)

As a team the Nor’easters won 22 face-offs, collected 49 goundballs, and were successful on 12 clears.

The Nor’easters will continue you its conference battle when it travels to Roger Williams University April 17. Regis will travel to Becker College April 19 looking for its first win of the season.
