GABRIEL TALLIES FOUR GOALS AGAINST REGIS COLLEGE

Weston, Mass.—John Gabriel (West Nyack, N.Y.) helped New England College (6-6. 5-2 TCCC) to a 23-3 win over Regis College (0-6, 0-5 TCCC) Saturday afternoon. Gabriel led the Pilgrims with four solo goals.

Nine different Pilgrims would tally goals for New England. Damian Carey (Medford, N.Y.) added the second highest number of goals with three. Regis keeper Andrew LaMacchia (Lynn, Mass.) had a difficult day against the Pilgrims, but managed to save 14 shots on goal. New England mustered 38 shots on the game.

Gabriel and Brian Gillis (North Vancouver, B.C.) tied for a team-high seven shots each. Regis had a total of 16 shots, with Bradford Hastings (Mansfield, Mass.) leading the way with eight. Hastings also gave Regis its first goal of the game with 13:40 remaining in the second quarter.

Tim Wells (Weston, Mass.) and Wade Thongsythavong (Salem, Mass.) had a goal each for Regis. New England had one goal scored during an extra-man opportunity.

New England controlled both the groundballs and face-off categories. The Pilgrims picked up 56 groundballs, and won 20-of-30 (.667) face-off attempts. Regis grabbed 28 groundballs, and won just 11-of-29 (.379) face-offs.

Phil DiFalco (Scarsdale, N.Y.) collected four groundballs for New England, a team-high. Stephan Bottex (Norwood, Mass.) had a game-high seven groundballs.

New England will host conference opponent Curry College April 13. The Pride will host the University of New England on April 14.
