WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman forward Ademola Afonja (Staten Island, N.Y.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week in Men's Basketball it was announced on Monday afternoon.

Afonja played in three games for the Pride including two starts. He averaged 13.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks over the three contests. Against Mitchell, Afonja matched a personal best with 27 points on 11-of-17 (64.7%) shooting. This is the second time he's earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Regis returns to the hardwood on Saturday, February 13th when they host conference opponent Elms for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off.
