REGIS RESERVES PLAY KEY ROLE IN THIRD STRAIGHT WIN

NASHUA, N.H. – Sam Jean-Gilles (Melrose, Mass) chalked up a team-high 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Regis College men's basketball team won their third consecutive game as they defeated New England Collegiate Conference opponent Daniel Webster College 63-56 in overtime on Saturday afternoon. The victory, improved the Crimson and Gold's record to 7-12, 4-6 NECC and the setback dropped the Eagles record to 7-11, 4-5 NECC.

Jean-Gilles was efficient from downtown as he converted 4-of-7 from long range. He also was a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe in 37 minutes off the bench. Isaiah Wilson (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) added eight points and eight rebounds in the victory while Chris Leak Jr. (New Haven, Conn.) was the only other Pride player in double-figures with 10 points. Chris Keaton (Beverly, Mass.) hit three treys to finish with nine points.

Regis outrebounded the hosts by a 44-33 margin and the Pride bench outscored the Eagles 38-13. Daniel Webster won the battle inside as they scored 34 points in the paint compared to Regis' 20.

Rondell Best (Brockton, Mass.) posted 19 points and 13 rebounds and Ray Farmer (Nashua, N.H.) picked up 13 points, but Regis rallied from eight points down in the final 71 seconds of regulation to tie it and then outscored the Eagles 12-5 in overtime.

Jeremy Smith (Harvey, La.) and Angelo Adon (Silver Spring, Md.) chipped in with six points each for DWC (7-11, 4-5 NECC).

DWC built a 50-42 lead after a Best layup with 1:11 to go but Wilson knocked down a three with 43 seconds left to cut it to five. DWC's Ryan Gauthier (Nashua) followed sinking one of two at the line, to make it 51-45 with 28 seconds remaining, but Keaton followed from outside with 23 to go for a three-point game.

After an Eagle turnover, Regis tied it with 15 seconds left on a Jean-Gilles three.

A Tevon Smallpiece (Dorchester, Mass.) jumper and one of two at the line from Best gave DWC an early 54-51 lead in overtime, but Regis followed with an 8-0 run with five points from Leak and a Keaton three to ice it down the stretch.

The Eagles visit Elms in a NECC matchup on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. while Regis heads to NECC foe Becker on Tuesday for a 6:00 p.m. meeting.
