WINTHROP, Mass. - Freshman Jamie Juskiewicz (Gorham, Maine) and senior Maresa Malcolm (Barrington, N.J.) of the Regis (Mass.) field hockey team have been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference's Rookie and Goalkeeper of the Week respectively. The announcement came from the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Juskiewicz scored the game's lone tally on Friday afternoon to lift the Pride to a 1-0 victory over Western Connecticut. The goal was Juskiewicz's first collegiate goal in her first collegiate game.
In the same game, Malcolm earned her first shutout of the 2017 season, making two saves to be named the GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week. Malcolm was last season's New England Collegiate Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, and earns Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the first time in her career.
Juskiewicz, Malcolm and the rest of the Pride field hockey team will be back in action on Tuesday night as the team travels to Wheaton for a 7:00 p.m. start against the Lyons.
