Pride Field Hockey Blanked by Framingham State

Framingham, Mass. - Framingham State sophomore Meaghann Ackerman (Littleton, Mass.) scored three goals and picked up an assist guiding the Rams past the Regis (Mass.) field hockey team by a score of 4-0 Thursday afternoon. With the win the Rams improve to 1-5 and Framingham's Ashley Means earns her first collegiate victory as a head coach. With the loss the Pride fall to 1-4.

Ackerman opened up scoring in the 10th minute with an unassisted goal and added another unassisted tally in the 19th minute. Bailey Donelly (Framingham, Mass.) got in on the action with a goal in the 26th minute with Ackerman assisting. The Rams scored again in the final minute of the 1st half to extend their lead to 4-0 when Ackerman sent home her third of the day with Donnelly's assistance.

Haley Duggan (Framingham, Mass.) turned away three shots in the shutout for the Rams. Maresa Malcolm (Barrington, N.J.) made ten saves in the setback for Regis.

The Rams outshot the Pride 21-to-5 including a 12-to-1 margin in the first half. The Rams attempted seven penalty corners to Regis' two.

The Rams return to the field on Saturday, September 24th when they host Salem State at 7 p.m. The Pride will host Becker on the same day at 1 p.m.
