PRIDE NAMED TWO SEED, HOST #3 WHEELOCK

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – No. 2 seed Regis College will host No. 3 seed Wheelock College on Wednesday night in the New England Collegiate Conference Field Hockey Tournament. The Pride will take on the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. in Weston, Mass.

Regis and Wheelock tied for second in the NECC Standings with the Crimson and Gold coming out on top via a tie-break procedure. Becker College earned the top seed in the tournament and will host #4 Elms College on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.

The 2012 and 2014 NECC Champion Pride (10-8) went 7-3 in the NECC this season, splitting their games with Wheelock (9-8, 7-3 NECC). The Wildcats took the first game back in September, 4-0, before Regis got some revenge on October 17 with a 4-3 win on the road. Kelsey Morton (South Portland, Maine) scored twice – including the game-winner in the 60th minute – in the Pride victory.

The 2015 NECC Championship will be decided on Saturday, November 7 at the highest remaining seed.
