THREE PLAYER'S TALLY AT LEAST TWO SHOTS AGAINST NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE

WESTON, Mass.—Samantha Escobar (Rumney, N.H./Newfound) tallied the first two scores of game for New England College, leading the Pilgrims to a 4-0 victory over The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Regis College Tuesday.

With the win New England improves to 7-6 overall and 5-0 in the TCCC. Regis College lost its second straight conference match, moving the Pride to 4-10 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

Escobar scored her first goal from an assist by Katherine Rich (Westborough, Mass./UNH) at 30:09. Rich also contributed on the Pilgrims third score of the game. Marisa Ayotte (Feeding Hills, Mass./Longmeadow) scored the teams third and fourth goals of the game. Escobar contributed on Ayotte's fourth goal.
New England managed an offensive prowess that Regis just could not match. The Pilgrim defense did not allow Regis a shot in the first period. However, the New England offense took nine shots against Regis' Morgan Mitchell (Ashburnham, Mass./Oakmont Regional).
New England would finish the game with 24 shots, with 18 of those being on goal. Mitchell was able to save 13 shots on goal, adding to her season total of 198.

Regis College found its offensive stroke in the second half. The Pride would only take six shots, but five were on New England's keeper. Regis' Christine O'Toole (Wareham, Mass./Wareham), Meghan Robohm (North Easton, Mass./Oliver Ames), and Candace Ferry (Malden, Mass./Bishop Fenwick) each registered at least two shots.

Molly Wilcox (Northfield, N.H./Winnisquam) opened the game in net for the Pilgrims, and managed two saves in her 45 minutes. First-year keeper Melissa Mower (Bangor, Maine/Bangor) finished the game adding three saves to her season statistics.

This is the sixth time this season that New England has held a team to a goal or less. It is just the fourth time that Regis has been shutout in 14 games.

New England will travel to Worcester State (Oct. 14), before hosting TCCC opponent Nichols College. Regis College will finish its regular season against TCCC foes Endicott College (Oct. 16) and Gordon (Oct. 23).
