Boatwright, Pike Named NEISDA Swimmers of Week

WESTON, Mass. – With strong Senior Day performances during last Saturday's dual meet against Elms College, Kyleigh Boatwright (Roseville, Calif.) and Brendan Pike (Weymouth, Mass.) have been named Swimmers of the Week by the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA), announced Tuesday night, Jan. 25, by the coaches' organization.

In the final home meet of his collegiate career, Pike broke the Regis Pool record in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 17:33.45, almost three full seconds faster than the previous mark established two years ago. Pike also finished the 50 freestyle in 23.67 seconds, the quickest time for the Pride this season by over two seconds, as well as the 100 individual medley in 1:00.63.

Also competing at home for the last time, Boatwright notched the top time in three individual events Saturday, starting with a mark of 30.68 seconds in the 50 backstroke. She followed that with a 100 backstroke time of 1:05.38 and a season-best time of 1:05.72 in the 100 individual medley.

Heading into the conference championship meet, Pike currently is at the top of the GNAC men's swimming and diving performance list in the 100 individual medley, plus he is third in both the 400 individual medley and 1650 freestyle. Boatwright is second on the GNAC women's swimming and diving performance list in the 100 individual medley as well as fourth in the 200 backstroke.

Regis College will participate in the GNAC Swimming and Diving Championships Feb. 4-6 at the Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley, Mass.
