Know Your Pride: Q&A With Erin Loehner

With the women’s soccer season in full swing, women’s soccer and lacrosse student-athlete and SAAC President Erin Loehner took time out of her busy schedule for a good ‘ol fashioned Q & A session. Erin is a psychology major from Danvers, Mass.

Why did you choose to come to Regis?
I liked that it was a tight-knit university and that I was only 40 minutes away from home, and getting that chance to balance your sport and school at a DIII level, which I think is a good balance because you’re here for mainly school.

So far, what has been your most memorable experience on or off the field at Regis?
Coming back my sophomore year for preseason because I was out my freshman year with a torn ACL. So coming back for that first game and being brave enough to play and not worry about it anymore is a good thing for me.

When coach Webber or Duggan gives you the day off, what are you doing instead?
I guess just relax and get ahead with stuff, but mostly just enjoy the day off.

What do you enjoy most about playing soccer and lacrosse?
You always have something going on which keeps you busy and I like that. It keeps you with a set schedule.

Talk about the experience of being a two-sport athlete.
I mean I love it, I think it adds to your college experience because you don’t have that much rest until winter break.

What’s your go-to karaoke song?
Sunday Morning by Maroon 5

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given and by whom?
Best advice I’ve ever received is from my mom. She says that everything happens for a reason.

What is the last picture you took on your phone?
The last picture I took was with me and two of my friends.

If you could sit down with one person, dead or alive, who would it be?
Mia Hamm

What did you do for your last birthday?
I had dinner with my family.

If you could live in a TV show or movie which would you choose?
This Is Us

If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
Pay off school

If you weren’t playing soccer or lacrosse, what sport would you play?
Probably basketball or running track
