Anselmo & Bisnett Earn NECC Weekly Awards

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Two Regis (Mass.) student-athletes have received Weekly Awards from the New England Collegiate Conference. Freshman Kerri Anselmo (Natick, Mass.) of the women's lacrosse team has been named the NECC Rookie of the Week for the fourth week in a row, while senior Sean Bisnett (Oxnard, Calif.) of the men's volleyball team received his first NECC Player of the Week Award of the season.

Anselmo's tallied eight goals and one assist in two game on the week to receive her honor. In a come-from-behind win over Elms in conference play on Sunday, Anselmo matched a season-high by scoring six goals. Four of her goals came consecutively in the second half to help the Pride erase a halftime deficit and stay perfect in NECC play at 2-0. Anselmo's fourth straight Rookie of the Week honor keeps the Pride's season sweep of the award intact, as Anselmo and teammate Brooke Ross (Hanover, Mass.) have combined for each of the season's five awards.

A pair of impressive outings from Bisnett earned him his first Player of the Week Award of 2017. The outside hitter started off his week with a match-high 15 kills in a sweep over Newbury on Tuesday, before he turned in a season-high 18 kills on his Senior Day, a sweep of Eastern Nazarene. With 33 kills and just three attack errors over the two matches, Bisnett posted an impressive .625 hitting percentage for the week.

Both teams will be back in action this week, opening with a road matchup for Bisnett's men's volleyball team Monday night at 8:00 p.m. Anselmo's women's lacrosse team next takes the field on Tuesday when it hosts Daniel Webster in NECC play on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
