Anselmo & Harrow Receive NECC Weekly Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - For the second week in a row, Kerri Anselmo (Natick, Mass.) of the Regis (Mass.) women's lacrosse team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player and Rookie of the Week, while Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass.) of the men's tennis team has received the first Player of the Week award of the 2017 season.

Anselmo helped lead the Pride to a 2-0 week to stay perfect at 6-0 on the season. The freshman tallied four goals and one assist in a 10-6 win over Emmanuel College on Tuesday to start off the week, before a three-goal, two-assist effort in the team's NECC opener against Mitchell on Saturday. Through six games, Anselmo leads the Pride in both goals with 18 and assists with nine to total 27 points. It is the second consecutive week that Anselmo has been named both Player and Rookie of the Week, and third consecutive week she has earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Harrow garnered the first NECC weekly honor of 2017 after he prevailed at No. 1 singles and doubles in a 9-0 Pride victory over Wheelock last Thursday. Paired with teammate Gabriel Montealegre (Managua, Nicaragua), the No. 1 doubles team defeated the Wildcats' Arvin Hedayaty and Matt Brown 8-2 before Harrow downed Hedayaty 6-0, 6-1 in singles play to lift the Pride to the win. Between singles and doubles play, Harrow is a perfect 11-0 on the spring season, as he was 9-0 in the team's Florida Spring Break trip.

Both the men's tennis team and women's lacrosse team will be back in action this week, starting with the spring home opener for men's tennis on Tuesday against Wheelock at the Regis Tennis Center. Doubles play will begin at 4:30 p.m. Anselmo and women's lacrosse plays against Saint Joseph's (Me.) in a future Great Northeast Athletic Conference tilt at Regis Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
