Jaiwon Martin returned to his alma mater to join the Pride coaching staff starting in 2019-20.

Martin spent two seasons as the graduate assistant coach at New England College, helping the Pilgrims post a 43-11 (.796) overall record. NEC won the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Tournament in 2018 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. 

Martin graduated from Regis College in the spring of 2017 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sport Management. As a member of the Pride, he helped lead Regis College to the 2014-2015 NECC Men’s Basketball Championship and an appearance in the 2015 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament; both program firsts. As a senior, Martin served as a team captain for the men’s basketball team. 

Martin was a recipient of the NECC Men's Basketball Sportsmanship Award in 2015-2016 and recognized as the Regis Community Unsung Hero for exceptional work in the community. Martin’s community service efforts included volunteering as a Big Brother at the Plympton School (Waltham, Mass.) and initiating a Back-to-School Shoe Drive in his hometown of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
