Regis Women’s Cross Country Opens 2018 Season at Wellesley Invitational

WELLESLEY, Mass. – The Regis College women's cross country team opened the 2018 season with a fourth place finish at the Wellesley Invitational Friday evening at the Nehoiden Golf Course.

Maddie Boucias (Buckland, Mass.) was the top runner for the Pride, finishing in 13th place with a time of 20:23.9. Ashleigh Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) opened her collegiate career with a solid performance, finishing in 20th place with a mark of 20:58.7.

Erin Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) was next for Regis, crossing the finish line in 30th place with a time of 21:48.8. Megan Bubello (Framingham, Mass.) ended up in 39th place in 23:11.6, followed by Joelle Bockus (Windham, Maine) in 24:55.3 and Desiree Jones (Oceanside, Calif.) in 25:11.8.

Brandeis cruised to the team title with the three top finishers, led by Emily Bryson with a winning time of 18:11.7. Wellesley finished in second place thanks to its five runners finishing in the top 12.

Regis next competes at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday, Sept. 15, starting at 11 a.m.
