WESTON, Mass.Katryna Veasey (Quincy, Mass.) drilled a match-high 13 kills, Haley Schulte (Fullerton, Calif.) added nine digs and the Regis (Mass.) women's volleyball team took down Norwich in Great Northeast Collegiate Conference action, Wednesday night at Higgins Court.

Regis improves to 6-10 overall and 3-1 in the GNAC with Norwich falling to 9-5 and 1-2 in league play. The Cadets were led by Monika Schneider's (Brookline, N.H.) six kills with Brianna Dawson (Katonah, N.Y.) adding a match-high 10 digs.

Set one saw Norwich jump out to an early three-point lead before the Pride arrived and went on a 5-1 run to open up an 11-7 advantage. An ace and kill from Katrina Veasey (Quincy, Mass.) led to the lead midway through the set. The Cadets erased the deficit to even the set at 13-13 but a pair of MacKenzie Emco (Sutton, Mass.) kills pushed the lead back up at 18-13 and the Pride paced to the win to take the early lead in the match.

Set two was the Pride's turn to get out in front early. Rachel Bartels (Edinburg, Texas) delivered a pair of kills and got in on a block as Regis built an early 10-3 advantage. Norwich would rally and shave the lead to 13-9 on a Julia Schroeder (Victorville, Calif.) kill, but the Pride regained control going on a 7-1 run to take a 20-10 lead. A Sydney Trusty (Durham, Conn.) kill and a Caroline Fuentes (Downey, Calif.) ace put the set to bed.

Set three proved to be the tightest of the match but just a road block on the way to a Regis win. The Pride led 18-10, but a pair of Schroeder aces helped shave the Pride lead to just one point. The Cadets later took the lead on back-to-back kills from Michele Zummo (Highland Mills, N.Y.) and held on for the win.

Regis made sure the match did not go to a fifth and deciding set in set four, breaking a 15-15 tie with an 8-0 run to win going away.

The Pride returns to action Saturday for a trimatch with Wentworth and Lesley as part of the school's annual Regis Fest. Norwich plays Saturday as well with a GNAC match at Johnson & Wales (RI).
