    20 members of the Regis College fall athletic teams have been named to the New England Collegiate Conference Fall All-Academic Team, announced Wednesday afternoon by the league office.

    The Regis College women’s volleyball team was swept by the No. 24 nationally ranked Massachusetts Institute of Technology 3-0 (18-25, 17-25, 13-25) in the opening round of the 2015 NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball Tournament on Friday night in Rockwell Cage. With the win, the host Engineers improve to 29-3 and will square off against Amherst College at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday while the Pride fell in the First Round for the second straight year close the campaign with a 22-11 mark.

    Regis College freshman Rachel Bartels (Edinburg, Texas) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year, it was announced on Monday afternoon. Bartels highlights three All-NECC selections for the Pride, while head coach Scott Wright was named the NECC Coach of the Year for the second-straight year.

The Pride (22-10) climbed out of a 2-0 hole to rally for a 19-25, 19-25, 25-19, 25-17, 15-12 win over the Lynx (16-9).

Sophomore outside hitter Graciella Molinari (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) led the way notching a match-high 12 kills as the Pride remain perfect in conference action.

With the split, Regis’ record moved to 8-9 on the season.

The Pride were defeated 3-0 (15-25, 17-25, 18-25) by Wellesley College and 3-1 (13-25, 13-25, 25-19 and 21-25) by the host Raiders. Both losses dropped the Pride to 7-6 overall.

    The Regis College women’s volleyball team traveled to the campus of State University of New York –Potsdam on Friday to take part in the Victory Promotions Invitational. The Crimson and Gold had two matches scheduled for the day and dropped a 3-0 (12-25, 10-25, 5-25) decision to SUNY Canton in the first game and followed with a 3-1 (23-25, 26-24, 23-25, 18-25) loss versus the host Bears. The Pride fell to 3-4 on the young season with both losses.
