PRIDE COMPETE AT NEW ENGLAND DIII OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

WATERVILLE, Maine – Several members of the Regis College track and field team competed at the 2013 New England Division III Outdoor Championship over the weekend at Colby College.

The highlight performance of the day came from sophomore Jeremy Israel (Boston, Mass.), who cruised to a season-best time of 50.44 seconds in the 400m event. Israel also served as a leg in each of the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.

Israel, freshman Ray Grasso (Orange, Mass.), sophomore Chandler Davies (Hartford, Conn.), and freshman Matt Owens (Boston, Mass.) ran the 4x100m event in a time of 45.10, while Grasso, Davies, Israel, and freshman Joe Greco (Oxford, Conn.) clocked in at 3:33.01 in the 4X400m.

Owens also competed in a pair of individual events, making his mark in the 100m dash and the 200m dash, completing the events in 11.63 seconds and 23.09 seconds, respectively, while Grasso recorded a time of 59.87 seconds in the 400m hurdles.

Tori Rapsis (Nashua, N.H.) was the lone female competitor for the Pride. The junior competed in the pole vault and cleared 10-02.00 in the event, which was a season's best height.
