Women’s Tennis Blanks Bay Path, 9-0

LONGMEADOW, Mass. - The Regis (Mass.) women's tennis team lost only two games in a dominant 9-0 win over Bay Path University in New England Collegiate Conference action Wednesday. The Pride improve to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the NECC while the Wildcats drop to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in conference.

The only two losses came at first singles when Erica Murphy (Portsmouth, N.H.) swept Katie Leibowitz (Tolland, Conn.) 6-0, 6-2.

The Pride doubles pairs of Jessie Lord (Fall River, Mass.) and Ariana McCormack (Worcester, Mass.), Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) and Carly Scanlon (Canton, Mass.), and Amy DiPace (Cambridge, Mass.) and Emily Rice (Pittsfield, Mass.) all won 8-0.

Sara Kanarkiewicz (Peabody, Mass.) and Kailey Myers (Norwalk, Calif.) competed in singles play at the five and six positions, sweeping at love Mariellys Pena (Waterbury, Conn.) and Clarissa Morin (Douglas, Mass.), respectively.

Regis returns to action next Tuesday, Sept. 27 hosting Lesley in another NECC matchup. Bay Path next takes the court this Saturday, Sept. 24 versus Becker.
