Regis (Mass.) Swimming Dominates St. Joes of Maine

STANDISH, Maine - The Regis (Mass.) swimming and diving teams continued their winning ways, both winning handily against St. Joseph's College of Maine Friday evening at the Harold Alfond Center. The Pride men's team won 126-31 with the women's team topping St. Joe's 128-71.

Regis took top honors in every event. On the men's side, Kiet Luong (Malden, Mass.) won the 100 IM (1:01.87), 50 back (27.57) and, with teammates Joshua Unas (Santa Clarita, Calif.), Lawrence Reynolds (Hyde Park, Mass.) and Robert Ekberg (Northbridge, Mass.), the 400 medley relay.

Reynolds, along with 400 medley relay win, took top honors in the 50 free (24.07) and 50 breaststroke (32.14). Cassidy Bastianelli (Newton, Mass.) won both the 100 free (54.61) and 1000 free (10:40.48).

Ashlyn DeRoche (North Reading, Mass.) and Jessica Higgins (Peabody, Mass.) led the way on the women's side, teaming up with Sarah Leonard (Brockton, Mass.) and Katherine Mariano (Newton, Mass.) to win the 400 medley relay (4:30.05). Higgins also won gold in the 50 fly (28.67) and 50 back (29.19). DeRoche added wins in the 100 free (59.08) and 50 free (27.36).

The Pride are back in action for their final meet of 2016, the GNAC Championships hosted at Simmons College from Dec. 3-4.
