PRIDE WOMEN RETURN TO POOL AGAINST SIMMONS

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's swimming and diving team fell to Simmons College, 145-50, on Friday night in Weston, Mass. The Pride return to action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Colby-Sawyer for a 1:00 p.m. meet.

The Pride's 200 yard medley team of Shannan O'Neil (Lowell, Mass.), Lucia Llorente-Ruiz (Newton, Mass.), Amanda Iandoli (Mansfield, Mass.), and Laura Holland (Mansfield, Mass.) posted a time of 2:09.63 in the first event of the day. O'Neil later added a second place finish in the 50 yard freestyle (27.33), only .12 seconds off the top time, as well as the second fastest time in the 100 yard freestyle (59.68).

Iandoli posted a time of 1:10.20 in the 100 yard butterfly later in the evening. Llorente-Ruiz picked up a win in the 100 yard IM with a time of 1:12.71.

Haley Bowen (Litchfield, N.H.) posted a time of 5:14.97 in the 400 yard IM and added a 1:15.88 time in the 100 yard breaststroke, both good for second place finishes.

"We had several season best times and even lifetime best times coming off two really hard weeks of training, said Coach Sweeney. "That was very exciting to watch and even surprised me how well most of them swam tonight. The majority will be swimming in different events tomorrow at Colby-Sawyer."
