GRAF HIGHLIGHTS DAY TWO OF NEISDA CHAMPIONSHIPS

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. – The Regis College men's and women's swimming and diving teams returned to the pool on Saturday afternoon for day two of the NEISDA Championships. The Pride's men's team currently sits in sixth place, while the women are in 11th.

The 200 yard medley relay teams began the night for the Pride as both teams performed really well. The women's team of Brenna Melanson (Reading, Mass.), Haley Bowen (Litchfield, N.H.), Megan Pratt (Rockland, Mass.), and Shannan O'Neil (Lowell, Mass.) posted a time of 1:56.01 in their race, while the men's team of Nick Yerzyk (West Hills, Calif.), Stephen McGovern (Dorchester, Mass.), Djordje Mandic (Portland, Maine), and Alex Graf (Newton, Mass.) finished fourth with a time of 1:40.40.

The 50 fly event was a strong one for the Pride as Shannan O'Neil (28.65) and Megan Pratt (29.79) both finished in the top 20. Alex Graf set a new Regis College record with his first place finish in the men's 50 with a time of 23.53, while Mandic (24.23), Yerzyk (24.72), and Andy LaForest (Roslindale, Mass.) (25.64) all finished in the top-10 of the event.

Greg Sarantakis (Lowell, Mass.) dropped 25 seconds off his time in the 400 IM with a time of 4:47.66

Coach Sweeney was also impressed with several other swimmers, "Our breaststrokers were solid, and we finished off the session with two great 800 free relays as we dropped a lot of time in both races."

"With the prelims session being cancelled this morning, we were able to get some extra rest today. We swam really well and had some great performances. Tomorrow is another strong day for us so we are looking to finish on a strong note."
