WPI BESTS REGIS IN DUAL MEET

WESTON, Mass. – The Worcester Polytechnic Institute Engineers defeated Regis College in both halves of a dual meet on Saturday afternoon in Weston, Mass. On the men's side, WPI defeated the Pride 125-114, while on the women's side, the Engineers handed Regis a 126-103 setback.

For the men, Djordje Mandic (Portland, Maine) took home first place in the 100 yard backstroke with his time of 58.79. Mandic also posted a win in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.91 while his teammate Alex Graf (Newton, Mass.) came in second with a time of 23.26. Graf was the top swimmer in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 50.85.

In the women's events, Shannan O'Neil (Lowell, Mass.) came in second in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:14.01. Haley Bowen (Litchfield, N.H.) grabbed a win in the 100 yard breastroke with a time of 1:14.99 while Megan Pratt (Rockland, Mass.) and Megan Kennelly (Milford, Mass.) came in second in the 50 yard and 100 yard freestyle, respectively.

Regis returns to the pool as a dual squad on January 21st when the Pride takes on Colby-Sawyer in a 1:00 p.m. meet in New London, N.H. The women will take on Simmons next Friday night in the final home meet of the season scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
