BOSTON, Mass. – The Pride were unable to hold on as the UMass Boston Beacons scored twice in the second half to beat Regis 2-1 in a non-conference collegiate women's soccer match at James Cotter Field Wednesday evening.

The first shot of the match came from the Beacons' Isa Andrade who fired a shot that hit the crossbar. Noelle Garcia (Los Angeles, Calif.) scored 22:13 into the match when she hit a free kick that was able to find the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.

UMass Boston had multiple chances to score in the first half that were stuffed by the Pride defense. Avery Finelli (Colchester, Vt.) and Erin Filetti (Newburyport, Mass.) both made defensive saves on the goal line within 1:12 of each other keeping Regis in front.

Ori Attridge (Westwood, Mass.) faced six shots on net in the first half, saving all six opportunities to go into halftime with the Pride holding the advantage. 

Morgan Palma fired a shot towards the net 7:51 into the second half that hit off the left post, UMass Boston's second shot off the woodwork in the match. 

UMass Boston managed to break through in the 62nd minute after Grace McGettrick found Kelly McNeil in open space to knot the match up at 1-1.

McGettrick scored a goal of her own with 13:34 remaining in the second half after she collected the ball just outside the 18-yard box. Attridge then tried to make a run for the ball, but McGettrick shot just outside the reach of Attridge into the lower left corner of the goal. 

Attridge faced 11 shots on goal making nine saves (81.8 percent), Regis registered two shots on net during the contest. The Beacons held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks throughout the match. 

UMass Boston (7-2, 1-0 LEC) travels to Eastern Connecticut State for a Little East Conference (LEC) match.

Regis (4-4, 1-1 GNAC) has finished their regular season non-conference schedule. They will now turn their focus to Suffolk who comes to Regis Stadium to close out field events for Regis Fest on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. The women's soccer team will then play away matches against Simmons on Wednesday, Oct. 2 and St Joseph (Conn.) on Saturday, Oct. 5.
