WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Regis (Mass.) women's soccer team continued its conference road show, falling to the University of Saint Joseph, 3-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action Saturday at USJ Soccer Field.

The loss evens the Pride's league record at 1-1 while falling to 1-2 overall. The Blue Jays improve to 2-0-1 overall and 1-0 in GNAC play.

Jessica Spezzano (Watertown, Conn.) had a part in every goal, scoring the first two then assisting on the final one to ice the game. Pride keeper Krysten Drake (Loganville, Ga.) nearly got through the first half with a clean sheet but USJ drew a foul just outside the penalty area in the 38th minute. Spezzano bent the kick around the wall and under the crossbar to give her team the lead.

Spezzano quickly gave the Blue Jays a two-goal advantage, scoring off a through ball just 1:20 into the second half. In the 71st minute Spezzano cut in on the left flank and found Alyssa Flecko (Stafford, Conn.) who scored to extend the lead to 3-0.

USJ outshot Regis 21-8 as Drake posted six saves in 90 minutes of action. Megan Ricci (Center Moriches, N.Y.) made one save in earning her shutout in goal for USJ.

Regis next plays its GNAC home opener this Wednesday, Sept. 13 vs. Anna Maria at 7:00 p.m. The Blue Jays will return back to the pitch next on Wednesday night in another GNAC battle on the road against Simmons College. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
