WESTON, Mass. – Regis College allowed only one goal in the first half to propel themselves past Fitchburg State in a non-conference collegiate women's lacrosse match Tuesday night at Regis Stadium, 15-7.

Rachel Nadeau (Coventry, Conn.) led the Pride in scoring with four goals, while Emily Kosak (Milton, Mass.) and Alyssa Kelly (Lee, Mass.) would both net three.  Taylor Assarian (Arlington, Mass.) had four assists in the game as Regis recorded assists on seven of their 15 goals.

Kerri Anselmo (Natick, Mass.) netted the first goal of the game off of a free position shot 2:32 into the contest.  The Falcons struck back just over four minutes later when Julia Miele connected with Sarah Mallahan to tie the game at 1-1.

After the Falcons' goal, the Pride scored three goals within 2:20 jetting out to a 4-1 lead.  Kelly's second goal of the game brought the Pride lead to five with 18:11 remaining in the first half before Brooke Ross (Hanover, Mass.) got onto the scoresheet by firing one into the back of the net just over three minutes later. The Pride scored three more to close out the half with a 9-1 lead.

After the halftime break, Tracy Long scored the first two goals of the second half closing the deficit to six.  Kosak responded 41 seconds later with a goal of her own to expand the Pride lead back to seven.  After four consecutive goals for Regis, the Falcons and the Pride traded goals twice to finish the game with the Pride coming out on top 15-5.

Brittany McPherson (Lynn, Mass.) turned away 8-of-13 shots that she faced (61.5%).  The Pride trailed the Falcons in ground balls in the game, 40-25, and would drop the draw control battle as well, 12-11.  Regis only committed 19 turnovers while Fitchburg committed 32 turnovers.

Fitchburg State (1-4, 0-0 MASCAC) will next play Saturday, Mar. 23 when they travel to New England College.  They will then play on Wednesday, Mar. 27 when they take on UMass Dartmouth at home.

Regis (2-1, 1-0 GNAC) will play tomorrow, Wednesday, Mar. 20 when they travel to Central Connecticut State to take on the Blue Jays of St. Joseph (Conn.). They will then play host to Simmons, Saturday, Mar. 23 at 1 p.m.
