PRIDE NAMED TOP SEED IN WOMEN’S LAX TOURNAMENT

WESTON, Mass. – After posting a perfect 5-0 record in the New England Collegiate Conference regular season, the Regis College women's lacrosse team has been named the No. 1 seed in the upcoming NECC Tournament. The Pride (11-6, 5-0 NECC) will host #5 Elms College (5-9, 2-3 NECC) on Wednesday night at 5:00 p.m.

The top-seeded Pride defeated the Blazers back on April 20th by a score of 21-5 in Weston, Mass. The Pride dominated NECC play, outscoring opponents at a 95-25 clip, or an average score of 19-5. Samantha Salamone (Milford, Mass.) and Grace Politis (Billerica, Mass.) combined to post 65 points in NECC play as Salamone scored 26 goals and had seven assists, while Politis netted 22 goals and had 10 assists.

Second-seed Becker (6-9, 4-1 NECC) will host third-seed Wheelock (4-10, 3-2 NECC) in the other semifinal on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.

The semifinal winners will meet at the highest remaining seed on Saturday, May 4th. Game times are tentative. Teams are seeded on based on predetermined tiebreakers.
