PORTLAND, Maine – Saint Joseph's (7-4, 3-1 GNAC) topped Regis College (5-5, 0-0 NECC), 12-9, in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Deering Memorial Stadium on Thursday evening.

Junior attacker Krystal Walsh (Springvale, Maine) played a hand in all three goals as she potted the first two and assisted on the contest's final goal – a Lizzie Calnan (Westport, Mass.) tally with 6:46 remaining.

Walsh netted three goals with four assists for seven total points while classmate Cassie Diplock (Augusta, Maine) notched a hat-trick effort and Macy Pagurko (Augusta, Maine) added a pair of markers with a game-high 10 ground balls. Calnan scored twice and collected six draw controls and four caused turnovers and Anneka Adame (San Diego, Calif.) added a goal, five draw controls and four ground balls on the evening.

Also, sophomore Kirstin McCombs (Lewiston, Maine) contributed seven ground balls, Emma Lafrance (Westport, Mass.) chipped in with four caused turnovers and four ground balls, and Rachelle Messuri (Atkinson, N.H.) and Mary Leasure (South Portland, Maine) picked up five ground balls apiece for the hosts.

Saint Joseph's held advantages in shots (31-23), ground balls (52-37) and draw controls (17-5) while Regis owned a 24-20 edge in caused turnovers in the non-conference tilt.

With the victory, Saint Joseph's improves to 2-0 in the brief history of the series with Regis College. The Monks tipped the Pride by an 18-16 margin in Weston, Massachusetts last spring.

Both teams host conference opponents on Saturday afternoon, when Saint Joseph's takes on Lasell College at Deering Memorial Stadium in a 3:00 p.m. start and Regis faces Bay Path College at 1:00 p.m.
