WESTON, Mass. – Regis College lost to Emmanuel College, 7-3 and 18-1, Wednesday night in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference softball doubleheader at the Regis Softball Field.

After a scoreless first inning in which each team left a runner on base, Emmanuel struck first in the second inning, loading the bases before Sarah Hoisl drew a bases-loaded walk to drive in Kerry Sendrick. Olivia Burgos followed with a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda with the Saints' second run of the game.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Nicole Tebo (Kingston, N.H.) led off with a walk, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Emma Kelly (Lynnfield, Mass.), reached third on a Saint error, and scored on a single by Kelsey Grimard (Pelham, N.H.). Emmanuel answered in the top of the fifth when Ashley Skey hit a two-out double and scored on a Regis error.

With two outs in the sixth inning, Allie Petillo (West Sayville, N.Y.) laced a single to center field, and Grimard would reach base on a throwing error by the Saints. Ellery Rasmussen (Kingston, N.H.) brought both Petillo and Grimard home with a double to center field, tying the game at 3-3.

Grace Orcutt led off the top of the seventh inning with a single, and Casey Sheehan reached base on a Regis error to put two Saint runners on base. Sendrick sent both runners home with a triple to right field, and Ramirez-Tejeda followed with a two-run home run over the fence in straightaway center field.

After allowing a leadoff walk in the bottom of the seventh, Megan Kieselback retired the next three Pride batters in order to close out the game. She pitched a complete game for the Saints, allowing six hits, five walks, and three runs, only one of them earned, while striking out eight batters.

After three scoreless innings, Emmanuel broke through for four runs in the fourth inning, two of them with two outs as a Burgos triple scored Hoisl and a single by Renae Lacroix drove in Burgos. The Saints added two runs in the fifth inning when a double by Ramirez-Tejeda scored Sendrick and a sacrifice fly by Avery Webb drove in Audrey Esakoff.

Tebo led off the bottom of the fifth inning with a single and eventually reached third base on two wild pitches, but with two outs. Petillo sent a single into center field that scored Tebo, and Grimard followed with a walk before Saint starter Burgos worked her way out of the inning.

Emmanuel (17-11, 8-0 GNAC) put the game away with 12 runs in the sixth inning, featuring two-run singles by Orcutt and Sendrick as well as two-run home runs by Burgos and Sendrick.
