WALTHAM, Mass. – The Regis College men's track and field team competed at the Reggie Poyau Invitational hosted by Brandeis University Saturday afternoon.

Daniel LaFlamme (Watertown, Conn.) posted a personal best in the weight throw and won the event with a distance of 14.61 meters. With the personal record LaFlamme qualified for the Division III New England Championships. Frank Pelleteri (Freeport, Maine) also finished in the top five for the Pride in the weight throw, finishing fourth with a distance of 13.11 meters.

In the shot put, Pelleteri would finish with a throw of 12.55 meters which earned him seventh place in the field. LaFlamme would throw a distance of 11.70 meters, and Alex Hlywa (Southbury, Conn.) would throw a distance of 11.53 meters as they finished in the top 15.

On the track, Nicholas Pastore (Norwood, Mass.) finished in seventh as he ran a time of 7.42 seconds in the 60 meter dash in the 49-person field. Pastore would again finish in the top half of the field with a time of 24.89 in the 200 meter dash to place 19^th.

Christian Hendricks (Edgewater, Md.) would place ninth in the 400 meter dash posting a time of 54.95 seconds, while his teammate Pastore would be close behind him clocking a time of 55.03 seconds to finish 10^th. Henry Walker (Brookline, Mass.) would find success in the 800 meter run as he finished in seventh with a time of 2:06.85.

Jovan Sematimba (Burlington, Mass.) would finish the mile run in 4:42.47 to place fifth overall in the event, and Shane Romanchick (Trumbull, Conn.) would end up in 10^th finishing his mile at 5:05.30.

Southern Maine would win the meet overall with a total of 158 points, while Brandeis would follow with 107 points. Regis would finish in seventh place with a total of 18 points out of nine teams.

The Pride will return to action at the Smith Invitational next Saturday, Jan. 19, hosted by Smith College.
