Men’s Track and Field Compete at Plymouth State Winter Classic

HOLDERNESS, N.H. – The Regis College men's track and field team traveled north to Plymouth State to participate in the Plymouth State Winter Classic on Saturday.  

Daniel LaFlamme (Watertown, Conn.) started the day for the Pride with a second place finish and new season best in the weight throw with a distance of 14.24 meters (46' 11.5").  A fourth place finish from Frank Pelleteri (Freeport, Maine) and a fifth place finish by Cole Anderson (Falmouth, Maine) would round out the top five. Pelleteri finished with a distance of 12.84 meters (42' 1.5") and Anderson ended with a new personal record of 12.35 meters (40' 6.25").

The throwers would end their day at the shot put where Pelleteri took home a second place finish for the Pride with a distance of 12.68 meters (41' 7.25").  The Pride would place all four of their participents in the top ten of the event. LaFlamme would finish in fourth with a distance of 11.98 meters (39' 3.75"), Anderson followed in fifth at 11.95 meters (39' 2.5"). Mark Dumas finish in seventh with a throw of 11.89 meters (39' 0.25").

Making his 400 meter dash debut, Nicholas Pastore put together a fifth place finish at a time of 55.86  and would also finish fifth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.41.  Sean Toomey (Salem, N.H.) completed the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:13.71.

The Pride will be off until the new year when they begin 2019 at the Reggie Poyau Invitational hosted by Brandeis on Saturday, Jan. 12.
