Men’s Tennis Cruises to Victory

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's tennis team was able to find a groove to best Wentworth for a 9-0 victory early Friday evening at the Regis Tennis Center.

In doubles play Luke Horton (Bass Harbor, Maine) and Sebastian Torres (San Juan, Puerto Rico) defeated their opponents in first doubles to earn an 8-1 victory and the Pride their first point.  Nolan Bebarta (Danville, Calif.) and Johnny Pallotta (Bay Shore, N.Y.) were able to beat Harrison Maki and Alex Mularski in second doubles, 8-3.  The third doubles pairing of Cam Charbonneau (Guilford, Conn.) and Kyle Dugat (Houston, Texas) also earned an 8-4 victory.  In an exhibition match, the pairing of Evan Russell (East Wareham, Mass.) and Owen Pelissier (Hingham, Mass.) also came out victorious, 8-1.

In singles all matches went in favor of the Pride.  Bebarta defeated his opponent, Mularski, in third singles (6-0, 6-1) to give the Pride their fourth point of the match.  The clinching point came from Charbonneau who defeated his opponent in fifth singles (6-0, 6-0).

The Pride are back in action on Sunday, Oct. 7 when they take on UMass Boston in a non-conference play at home. Their final match of the fall season will come on Friday, Oct. 12 when Emerson comes to the Regis Tennis Center.
