MIKE BELUCH COMMITS TO PRIDE TENNIS

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College men’s tennis team is proud to announce a new player addition for the fall of 2011.  Pride head coach John Ciarleglio announced that Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass. St. John’s Prep) has committed to attend Regis College this fall.

Beluch has played tennis for St. John’s Prep for four years.  “I first saw Mike play a year ago and was immediately impressed with his skills and his mental focus during the match.” This year the Pride improved significantly from 2010, but still was short on a major impact player.  “Mike will definitely help fill that gap,” commented Coach Ciarleglio.

Beluch started playing tennis at a very early age and increased his training during his freshman year of high school. This training helped him excel on the St. John’s Prep team. Beluch has seen the huge difference in skill level between himself and some of the players on the team.  In the last couple of years Beluch has played both 3rd singles and 1st and 2nd doubles for the Eagles.

“I am always psyched when I hear that a player works on their tennis year round” commented Ciarleglio.  Mike does clinics and plays USTA tournaments.  Beluch’s tennis resume includes successful play as a member of the Woburn Blue team. The Woburn Blue team is a competitive associate in the adult men’s North Shore League. Beluch is currently ranked 126 in the USTA Boys 18’s Division for New England.

Beluch will be a pre-dental major at Regis.  He is fascinated with biology and science. His ultimate goal is to have a career in which he can help ease others suffering. “I am excited to be a member of the Regis College community and hope to lead the way on the court.” stated, Beluch.
