REGIS COLLEGE FALLS TO GULLS IN MEN'S TENNIS

WESTON, Mass.—Endicott College (1-3, 1-0 TCCC) handled Regis College (0-6, 0-1 TCCC) Saturday, defeating the Pride 9-0 in men’s tennis. Porter Williams, competing in the No. 1 singles position, battled with Dan Berdichevsky to defeat him 6-0, 6-2 for the Gulls first singles match victory of the day.

Williams joined teammate Jake Cohen in the No. 3 doubles position to knock-off Mohammad Diallo and Matt Smolko from Regis College 8-1. Jeffrie Parrish and Andy White challenged Olivier Joggi and Evan Ross in the No. 2 doubles position, but the Endicott pair stayed strong to down Regis College 8-5.

Player’s battled to earn wins for their respective teams, but Endicott found itself on the winning side of that battle. Joggi defeated Parrish in the No. 2 singles position 6-0, 6-1, but Parrish played with a consistent effort.

Saturday marked the first The Commonwealth Coast Conference match for both teams, and was Endicott’s first win of the 2011 season. Regis College is continuing to find its swing through six matches thus far.

Endicott returns to the court to host Nichols College (March 23) at 3:30 PM. Regis College will take the court the same day as it hosts Gordon College at 4:00 PM.
