PRIDE SET FOR FIRST HOME MATCH AGAINST GULLS

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College men's tennis team will have its first home match of the season Saturday (Mar. 19) versus Endicott College. The Pride enters the contest with an overall record of 0-5 and is playing its first match since returning from spring break. The visiting Gulls enter the contest with an overall record of 0-2.  This will be the first Commonwealth Coast Conference match for both teams.

The Pride is led by captains Andy White (Bozeman, Mont./Bozeman) and Matt Smolko (Pelham, NH/Lowell Catholic) who will lead with their strong play and experience.  Daniel Berdichevsky (Wayland, Mass./Wayland) will look to be a standout performer for the Pride.  Sophomores Mouhamed Diallo (Boston, Mass./Cours Sainte Marie de Hann) and Sophorn Nop (Lowell, Mass./Lowell Catholic) give the Pride added depth to the lineup and will have a impact throughout the season. Freshmen Jeffrey Parrish (Framingham, Mass./Framingham)  and Jonathan Dost (Taunton, Mass./Coyle Cassidy)will look to step up their play for the Pride against the Gulls and garner more collegiate tennis experience.

The Gulls are led by seniors Devon Locke (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) and Justin Nguyen (Shelton, Conn. / Shelton). Locke and Nguyen will look to improve on their doubles play against the Pride. Olivier Joggi (Stoneham, Mass. / Stoneham) and Jake Cohen (Barrington, R.I. / Barrington) have been strong players for the Gulls this season and will be a good match-up against the Pride's starters.

The Match will be played at Regis College and is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
