Toumayan-Miller Receives NEISDA Weekly Award

WESTON, Mass. – After posting a personal best time in the 100 freestyle at the Roger Williams Invitational last Saturday, junior Noah Toumayan-Miller (Natick, Mass.) has been named the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Male Swimmer of the Week, announced Thursday morning by the coaches' organization.

The highlight of Toumayan-Miller's day was an 18th-place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 59.26 seconds, the first time in his collegiate career that he completed the event in less than one minute. Since joining the Pride as a freshman, Toumayan-Miller has cut 10 seconds off his 100 freestyle time.

"Through his dedication to the sport, showing up for every practice early as well as working hard every day, he broke the one-minute barrier for the first time in his career," head coach James Sweeney said.

Toumayan-Miller also swam the second leg of the 200 freestyle relay, posting a 50 free split of 26.03 seconds to help the relay squad to a fourth place finish with an overall time of 1:44.75. He also posted a time in the 100 breaststroke two seconds faster than his seed time, finishing in 23rd place in 1:31.60.

The Regis College swimming and diving teams host their first meet of the 2019-20 season Saturday, Oct. 26, welcoming Bridgewater State and Eastern Connecticut State to the Regis Pool for an 11 a.m. start.
