ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Regis (Mass.) men's and women's swimming and diving teams delivered a fantastic opening day showing at the ECAC Championships, setting program records in three events Friday, including the 100th record set during head coach James Sweeney's five year tenure.

In finishing 10th, the men's 200 free relay team of Cassidy Bastianelli (Newton, Mass.), Nick Rainville (Reading, Mass.), Bryan Johnson (Sudbury, Mass.) and Kiet Luong (Malden, Mass.) set a new program record, swimming the race with a finals time of 1:24.99. The quartet broke another school record, this time by two whole seconds in the 400 medley relay (3:27.39) and again finished 10th.

On the women's side, the women's 200 free relay team placed 12th and also set a new school record. The quartet of Jessica Higgins (Peabody, Mass.), Sarah Leonard (Brockton, Mass.), Ashlyn DeRoche (North Reading, Mass.) and Jessica Zernitsky (Newton, Mass.) swam the race in 1:42.23 good for 12th place.

Higgins also broke a 17-year old school record in the 100 fly.

The US Naval Academy finished the day first in both the men's and women's competitions.
