PRIDE POST VICTORY AGAINST SCOTS 168-73

WESTON, Mass.-The Regis College men's swimming and diving team competed this past weekend at Gordon College. The Pride defeated the Scots by a score of 168-73 and secured its third win of the season.

The men's team was led by the strong swimming of Djorde Mandic (Portland, Maine.) who finished first in four events for the Pride. Mandic took a first place finish in the 50yd backstroke, 50yd butterfly, 100yd freestyle, and assisted in the 200yd freestyle medley relay.
Fellow teammates Nick Yerzyk (West Hills, Calif.), Stephen McGovern (Dorchester, Mass.), and Alexander Graf(Newton, Mass.) continued the winning ways for the Pride.  The trio of swimmers amassed three first place finishes on the day and were part of the 200yd medley relay team that finished with a time of 1:49.63s. Yerzyk notched a first in the 200yd freestyle, 100yd backstroke, while McGovern upped the pace  taking first in the 100yd breaststroke, and 50yd breaststroke. Graf took down the 200yd IM and the 100yd butterfly giving the Pride 168 points and the lead on the day.
Darren Laforest (Roslindale, Mass.) finished on a strong note for the Pride by taking a first place finish in the 50yd freestyle with a time of 24.51s
The Crimson and Gold will return to action Saturday November 19th, when the Pride travels to Standish, Maine to take on the Monks from Saint Joseph College.
