FASTEST STROKE WINS, PRIDE IN CHASE FOR NEISDA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Weston, Mass.—Regis College swimming and diving returns to the water Jan. 12 and Jan. 13. The women’s team will compete against Bentley University and Western New England on Tuesday.

Regis had its last meet Dec. 5, 2009. The team has been practicing throughout the winter break, and is ready to make some waves throughout the New England Invitational Swimming and Diving Association.

Regis will have three more home meets before NEISDA Championships February 13-14, 2010, and Feb. 19.

For the women’s team, freshman Christina Estrada has made an impression not only on the team, but also the Regis College swimming record books. Lindsay Ranahan will also compete this season, and has a good chance at setting qualifying times.

On the men’s side, freshman Nick Yerzyk, Darren Laforest, and Stephen McGovern have added to an established upperclassmen program. All have either etched their names in the record books, or are closing in on personal best times.

Mick Moriarty and Ben Perry have continued to lead by example in the pool.

The men will compete Wednesday, Jan. 13 against Norwich and Bentley.
