Jordan Smith joined the Regis College athletics staff in fall 2019 as an assistant coach for track and field.

His first season as a coach with the Pride was highlighted by Cole Anderson's school record-setting performance in the weight throw at the 2020 GNAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Anderson posted a mark of 15.31 meters to finished second at the conference championships and qualify for the New England Division III Championships. 

Originally from Tolland, Conn., Smith was a four-year letter winner in track and field for Utica College. He was a two-time Empire 8 champion in the javelin throw and became the first Pioneer to qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the event, finishing 17th in May 2019 with a top throw of 53.20 meters. He received All-Atlantic Region honors twice from the USTFCCCA and also earned All-Academic honors from the coaches' organization.

He competed in 16 different events during his collegiate career, including the heptathlon and decathlon. Smith holds the school record in the javelin throw and posted the second-highest heptathlon score in program history. At the 2019 AARTFC meet, he finished second in the javelin throw and fifth in the heptathlon. 

Also a three-year letter winner in soccer for the Pioneers, Smith graduated from Utica in 2018 with his bachelor's degree in health studies. He served as team captain for the track and field squad and holds USATF Level 1 Certification.
