Regis Places Over 100 on GNAC Academic All-Conference Team

WINTHROP, Mass. – Regis College student-athletes continued to show excellence in their academic work, as 104 members of the Pride were named to the 2018-19 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Academic All-Conference Team, as announced by the league office Tuesday morning.

In order to be eligible for the league's academic all-conference squad, a student must have a 3.25 cumulative GPA and have reached second-year academic status. The gross total of 1,030 is a +22 increase from the 2017-18 Academic All-Conference Team, with Regis' representation improving by 13 student-athletes from last year.

All 20 Regis athletic squads are represented on the Academic All-GNAC Team, led by women's soccer with 15 honorees, over half of the entire roster and more than 80 percent of those eligible. The field hockey team also reached double figures with 10 representatives, followed closely by women's lacrosse and women's volleyball with nine representatives apiece.

Each Pride men's team contributed at least three student-athletes to the Academic All-GNAC Team, paced by the men's track and field squad with seven representatives. Overall, Regis finished with the third-most selections at 104, behind only Saint Joseph's College with 115 and Johnson & Wales with 110.
