WESTON, Mass. - Eight players had multiple kills and the team hit a season-high .354 attack percentage to lead the Regis (Mass.) women's volleyball team to a sweep over Albertus Magnus 25-16, 25-9, 25-8 on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play at Higgins Court.
With the win, the Pride improves to 5-9 on the season and 2-0 in GNAC action. The Falcons move to 9-5 on the year, dropping to 0-1 in conference play.
Sophomore Katryna Veasey (Quincy, Mass.) and senior Shay Faber (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) led all players in the match, each recording seven kills in the win. The pair combined for just attack error for the entire match. Also chipping in offensively for the Pride was junior middle MacKenzie Emco (Sutton, Mass.), who added five kills. Faber led the Pride with seven digs in addition to her seven kills, while senior Haley Schulte (Fullerton, Calif.) led all players with 15 assists.
Sophomore Delaney Ruiz (Meriden, Conn.) was led the Falcons offensively with four kills on the day.
The strong offensive attack was the story of the day for the Pride, who did not make an attack error in the third set. It marks the first time all season that the Pride has accomplished the feat. The six total attack errors in the entire match is the Pride's lowest total since they recorded five in a loss to Brandeis on September 14, 2013.
Both teams will play Simmons College later this afternoon to close out their GNAC tri-match.
