PRIDE SWEEP PAIR ON DAY TWO OF CORSAIR INVITE

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College picked up a pair of wins on Saturday afternoon on day two of the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. The Pride (3-1) defeated Eastern Nazarene College, 3-0, and followed that up with a 3-1 win over Daniel Webster College in a non-league match.

The Pride used set scores of 25-23, 25-10, and 25-17 in the win over ENC. Emily DeBarros (Brockton, Mass.) led the Regis attack with seven kills and added 15 digs. Talisha Ruffi (Portland, Ore.) and MacKenzie Emco (Sutton, Mass.) added five kills apiece. Caroline Fuentes (Downey, Calif.) chipped in four kills, four digs, and three aces.

Crystina Lathrop (Houston, Texas) posted a double-double of 16 assists and a match-high 27 digs to go with four service aces. Erika Andreoli (Naugatuck, Conn.) added 10 digs to help out defensively, while Courtney Mosher (Taunton, Mass.) had three kills and a pair of blocks.

Against Daniel Webster, the Pride dropped the opening set, 19-25, before rallying to dominate the final three games with wins by set scores of 25-19, 25-14, and 25-8.

Graciella Molinari (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) picked up where she left off yesterday, notching a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs. Nicole Connolly (San Mateo, Calif.) had an all-around game with 11 kills, three aces, six digs, and four blocks. Haley Schulte (Fullerton, Calif.) posted nine kills and 10 digs, while Rachel Bartels (Edinburg, Texas) added eight kills.

Lathrop had another strong game for the Pride, dishing out 41 assists to go with a team-high 12 digs. Sydney Trusty (Durham, Conn.) chipped in five kills, while DeBarros had four kills and seven digs.

Regis is back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Anna Maria College for a non-league meeting with the AMCATS at 7:00 p.m.
