PRIDE SPLIT PAIR OF MATCHES FRIDAY AFTERNOON

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Regis College went 1-1 on day one of the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Friday afternoon in Dartmouth, Mass.

The Pride opened the season with a 3-2 victory over the host Corsairs by set scores of 21-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-15, 16-14. They followed that up with a 3-0 (23-25, 15-25, 22-25) setback to Framingham State University.

Against UMass Dartmouth, Graciella Molinari (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) led the Pride attack with 12 kills, three aces, and nine digs. Nicole Connolly (San Mateo, Calif.) joined her in double-figure kills with 10, while adding four aces and six digs. Sydney Trusty (Durham, Conn.) chipped in seven kills and 11 digs, with Rachel Bartels (Edinbug, Texas) posting five kills, four digs, and five total blocks.

Haley Schulte (Fullerton, Calif.) recorded a double-double of 24 assists and 18 digs. Emma Morales (San Juan, Puerto Rico) had a match-high 27 digs in her first career collegiate appearance.

In their second match of the day against the Rams, the Pride were led by eight more kills from Rachel Bartels. Nicole Connolly and Graciella Molinari added six kills apiece, with Trusty and Schulte posting five kills apiece. Schulte added her second double-double of the day with 14 assists and 13 digs.

Emma Morales added 14 digs, with Shay Faber (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) leading the Pride defense with 16 digs.

The Pride take on Eastern Nazarene College and Daniel Webster College on day two of the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, starting Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.
