PRIDE SWEEP WILDCATS FOR NECC VICTORY

HOLYOKE, Mass. - The Regis College women's volleyball team defeated New England Collegiate Conference foe Bay Path University 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-18) on Tuesday night at the Bartley Center. With the victory, the Pride advance to 15-8, 2-0 NECC and the Wildcats drop to 3-13, 0-2 NECC.

Reigning NECC Rookie of the Week, freshman Gracie Molinari (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.), topped all players with eight kills. Two Pride members' freshman Sydney Trusty (Durham, Conn.) and freshman middle blocker Nicole Connolly (San Mateo, Calif.) each tallied seven kills. Trusty hit .312, while Connolly hit .333 for the match. Connolly stepped up defensively as well finishing with ten digs.

Both Wildcats' middle hitters both notched five kills for the night. Senior Elizabeth Haylette (Terryville, Conn.) added five digs and two aces. Freshman Lauren Vallee (Bristol, Conn.) also had five digs and one block.

Regis' sophomore right side hitter Kristina del Rey (Miami, Fla.) led the way offensively with a stellar .364 attack percentage. Bay Path managed a strong defense led by senior Libero Kacie Bayreuther (East Lyme, Conn.) with a match high 10 digs. Despite the loss, Bay Path finished knotted in digs with Regis both teams tallying 35 for the game.

Regis takes a break this holiday weekend and will be back in action on Wednesday, October 15th facing Elms College on the road for a 7:00 p.m. start. Bay Path will travel to Southern Vermont for another NECC match on Saturday, October 11th at 7:00 p.m.
