REGIS DROPS 3-1 DECISION TO GORDON

WENHAM, Mass. – The Regis College women's volleyball team dropped its fourth-straight decision as the Pride fell to Gordon College, 3-1, on Wednesday night in non-league action in Wenham, Mass. The Fighting Scots used set scores of 25-10, 20-25, 25-22, and 25-17 in the win.

The Pride fall to 2-8 overall, while Gordon improves to 5-3 on the year.

Gordon started the night with a 25-10 win in the opening set behind Joy Kimmel's (Madison, Conn.) 10 assists and three kills each from Faith Gerdes (Wall Lake, Iowa) and Lauren Kranyak (Locust Grove, Va.).

Regis responded with a win in set two, 25-20, but the rest of the night belonged to the Scots as they took the final two sets for the 3-1 win.

Sara Gold (North Hollywood, Calif.) posted seven kills and 10 digs, while Vanessa Noesi (Puerto Plata, D.R.) also registered seven kills. Soraia Pinto (Brockton, Mass.) helped set up the Pride offense with 16 assists, while Marilia Ramos (Chimbote, Peru) led the Pride with 17 digs.

Gordon's Kimmel finished the night with 36 assists, while Gerdes recorded 11 kills and two solo blocks, Kranyak added eight kills, and Chelsea Clemens (Santa Barbara, Calif.) notched seven kills to lead the way for Gordon.

Regis has a quick turnaround as the Pride host Bridgewater State College on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. The Scots return to the court on Saturday as they travel to Salve Regina for their first conference match of the season at 1:00p.m.
