St. Hilaire Qualifies for 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Fatima St. Hilaire (Dorchester, Mass.), a recent graduate of Regis College and a record-setting student-athlete for the Pride track and field program, has qualified for the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the long jump, as the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee announced the participants late Friday night.

For each men's individual event contested, including the decathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each women's individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.

St. Hilaire posted a top mark of 5.74 meters (18' 10") in the long jump on April 13 at the Penmen Relays in Manchester, N.H. Setting a school record in the event, she finished in a tie for 14th place in Division III, earning a spot in the NCAA Championships.

The senior came close to qualifying for the national championships in two other events with school record performances. She finished 30th nationally in the triple jump after posting a mark of 11.64 meters (38' 2.25") at the New England Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships two weeks ago. She also broke the school record in the 100 meter dash at the ECSU Invitational April 19 with a time of 12.31 seconds, ending up in 44th place on the Division III performance list.

St. Hilaire becomes the second Regis student-athlete to qualify for an NCAA competition this year, joining diver Elisabeth McQuaid, who qualified for the NCAA Diving Regional Meet at the end of her competitive season.

The 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held May 23-25 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. St. Hilaire will compete in the long jump Thursday, May 23, starting at 5 p.m.
