St. Hilaire Makes Impact at New England Championships

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Senior Fatima St. Hilaire (Dorchester, Mass.) continued her record-breaking season this weekend with two All-New England performances as a contingent of Regis College student-athletes competed at the Division III New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Williams College.

St. Hilaire broke her own school record, set just six days ago at the GNAC Championships, in the triple jump, posting a mark of 11.64 meters (38' 2.25") on her second attempt to finish second overall. It is 0.12 meters further than the mark she posted last Sunday to win the conference title, and, depending on other results across the country, it may put her in position to qualify for the NCAA Championships in that event.

St. Hilaire also earned All-New England honors in the long jump with a fifth place finish Friday evening, leaping 5.41 meters (17' 9") on both her first and third attempts. She accounted for all 12 points scored by the Regis women's track and field team as it finished in 20th place.

On the track, St. Hilaire finished 15th in the preliminaries of the 100 meter dash Friday with a time of 12.65 seconds. Saturday, she anchored the 4x400 meter relay, teaming with Lourdes Jean-Louis (Pelham, Mass.), Emily Fagundo (Dover, N.H.), and Erin Sheehan (Pembroke, Mass.) to post a time of 4:22.19, finishing in 22nd place overall.

Also on the track, junior Maddie Boucias (Buckland, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 15th place in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 12:12.16.

In the throwing events, Liz Ksepka (Calais, Vt.) earned a 10th place finish in the shot put, posting an outdoor season-best mark of 11.46 meters (37' 7.25") on her first attempt. She also finished in 22nd place in the discus throw with a mark of 31.79 meters (104' 3").

Cole Anderson (Falmouth, Maine) saved his best throw for his third and final attempt, posting a mark of 40.05 meters (131' 5") in the discus throw to end the event in 15th place.

The official list of qualifiers for the 2019 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships will be announced Saturday, May 18, with the meet scheduled for May 23-25 in Geneva, Ohio.
