St. Hilaire Qualifies as School Records Fall

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Regis College women's track and field team saw success as a member of the Pride qualified for New England Regionals and a school record fell Saturday at the Snowflake Classic hosted by Tufts. 

Fatima St. Hilaire (Dorchester, Mass.) would see her effort in the 100 meter dash rewarded, as a time of 12.78 seconds in her preliminary run qualified her for the NCAA Division III New England Championships, plus she would break the school record with her time. St. Hilaire also qualified for the long jump at the New England Championships with a jump of 5.53 meters, winning the event.

Ashleigh Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) would run in the 5000 meter run, breaking the school record with a time of 19:14.15. Her sister Erin Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) would post a time of 21:59.38 in the event as well.

The first Pride runner to compete in the 3000 meter steeplechase this season, Maddie Boucias (Buckland, Mass.) set a mark of 12:26.41 in the event, placing seventh.

In the shot put, Liz Ksepka (Calais, Vt.) posted a mark of 11.18 meters, placing third in the event.  Elliana Boebel (Bedford, Mass.) threw for 10.25 meters, finishing in 13th, and Elisabeth Cooke (East Longmeadow, Mass.) finished just outside the top 15 with a throw of 9.92 meters.

Two members of the Pride would finish in the top 10 in the discus with Ksepka and Cooke finishing in seventh and eighth. Ksepka's top throw traveled 32.80 meters, while Cooke's best effort was marked at 32.77 meters.

As a team, Regis finished the meet in 11th place with a total of 26 points on the day. Tufts would take the meet with a total of 148.50 points in the 20-team field.

Regis prepares for the Regis Spring Classic next Friday, Apr. 5 that takes place on campus at Regis Stadium starting at 2:30 p.m.
