Women’s Track and Field goes to Bowdoin, LaFlamme to MIT for New Englands

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Members of the Regis College track and field team competed Saturday in the New England regional championships hosted by Bowdoin and MIT.  

At Bowdoin, the 4x400 meter relay team of Cassandra Froio (Tewksbury, Mass.), Emily Fagundo (Dover, N.H.), Lourdes Jean-Louis (Pelham, Mass.), and Erin Sheehan (Pembroke, Mass.) broke the school record in the event posting a time of 4:25.34, beating the previous school record of 4:32.13.

Liz Ksepka (Calais, Vt.) competed in the shot put where she placed sixth with a distance of 11.68 meters on her throw.  She finished two tenths of a meter off her personal record. She would also compete in the weight throw posting a distance of 13.18 meters in the event. 

After Qualifying in the 1000 meter run last week Ashleigh Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) finished the indoor season with a time of 3:11.81

Meanwhile in Cambridge, Daniel LaFlamme (Watertown, Conn.) represented the Pride in the weight throw, finishing with a distance of 14.02 meters in the event.

Saturday marked the final event of the indoor season.  They will next compete on Saturday, Mar. 23 when they open the outdoor season at the Bridgewater State Invitational.
