St. Hilaire Breaks Own School Record In Attempt To Qualify For Nationals

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Fatima St. Hilaire (Danvers, Mass.) came up just shy of a national qualifying jump this season, but set a Regis (Mass.) women's track and field school record in her final attempt on Thursday at the Last Chance Meet hosted by MIT.

St. Hilaire broke her own school record in the triple jump with a jump of 11.48 meters good for third-place while also placing second (5.63 meters) in the long jump. The junior sprinter and jumper won the long jump at the inaugural GNAC Track and Field Championships with a national qualifying mark, however the jump was too wind aided to qualify her for the national championships held in Wisconsin later this month.

The meet concluded a fantastic year for St. Hilaire who was voted both the GNAC Women's Track Athlete of the Year and Field Athlete of the Year. She collected both major awards after first-place finishes in both the 4x100 and the 4x400 at the GNAC Championships. She was also second in the 100 meter dash (13.25) and third in the 400 meter dash (1:03.35), and won the women's long jump (5.26m) and triple jump (11.42m) events.
